Quadratic Equations part 1

Yesterday I was struggling in how to deliver the lesson to my Algebra 1 students. like 3 months ago we talked about quadratic functions comparing them with linear and exponential functions. today we were to cover characteristics, info from graph or  equations. After spending some times looking for the best flow for the lesson I came with:

Matching activity (word-definition) I used it like an anticipation guide

Demonstrate the change in the graph when a>0 and a<0 I used Geogebra to help students compare and come with the difference because of a value.

Present standard form and vertex form equation, what information we can get from each of them

Practice with Algebra Nation workbook as well with worksheet from McDougall.

The class went pretty well. Students were working and getting an understanding of quadratics.

Friday we will be graphing from a table :)
