Simplifying radicals

Many of my students struggle with Math. Last week we practice prime factorization, laying the foundation for this week topic: Simplifying radicals.

I had to start with some examples of prime factorization in the radical sign

My levels 1 felt comfortable to try simplifying radicals after the examples.

My second activity was a card activity where students working in partners draw two cards and find the prime factorization formed by the cards and simplify the radical

Students were engaged, my next class will be simplifying radicals including variables :)
